The Mighty Mitochondria

There is a super hero of the cell.  It is a spherical to cigar shaped structure with a double membrane, its own DNA, and the ability to take the elemental structure of what one ingests and turn it into ATP, the energy currency of the cells.  Humans feel good when they are working effectively, and not so good when they are not.  The higher the metabolic need of the cell, the more mitochondria are there to assist it.  They function as the power house to process information, detoxify a cell, or make a protein.  Therefore, one's health depends upon the functioning of this mighty tiny organelle.  Certain medications, oxygen deprivation, poisons, stress and toxins can harm the mitochondria.  Humans will often feel this in the form of fatigue, and sometimes  tired, achey muscles long before it reaches a critical stage.  Muscles are loaded with mitochondria.  That is one reason why fatigue and muscle soreness is a side effect of so many pharmaceutical medications.  Your heart is also a great big muscle, and the look of a heart cell looks different from other muscle cells under the microscope due to the high amount of mitochondria present there.  One can begin to see the importance of the health of this superhero of the cells.  When the mitochondria are functioning properly, all the cells work together in a complementary union to provide all that the organism needs.  Hormone regulation, immune system functioning, recovery from over exertion, extreme exercise or illness, and one's mood are all directly related to the health and wellness of the mitochondria.  They have their own DNA and make their own unique proteins to carry on their functions nearly independently.  All this is important because it illustrates the fact that we are all interdependent organisms.  Thought to originally evolve from single cell bacteria, mitochondria are essential to the cell, the cell essential for organ functioning, the organ is essential for organism functioning, the organism essential for a healthy society,  and so on.  When a being lives in harmony with the environment, and honors the way of the Earth, drinks clean pure water, breathes good air, eats healthy and has a low amount of stressors, mitochondria, and therefore the organism, thrive.  Natural hormone balance, a proper ratio of molecules, high anti-oxidents, balanced exercise, relationships and work/play time contribute to one's sense of well being.  Being happy contributes greatly to the health of an organism due to the minute interactions of molecules as this up regulates or down regulates certain markers of health and wellness.  The mitochondria a big players in all of this.   The pattern of the cellular world reflects the health, happiness and well being of an individual.   The scale is the only difference.  Like a holographic fractal, the fields inter merge to help build the structure of what ever the energetic construct decides is worth doing.  It all begins with the power to think and be.  Good thoughts free of bitterness, guilt or anger allow the love and healing to program the field, which programs the cells.  And the mighty mitochondria helps to fuel it all.   bless
